Here you can freely discuss music. What kind of music you're into, some of your favorite video game or movie soundtracks, new artists or songs you are currently enjoying, etc.
As for me, I mostly like all kinds of Metal. From "Classic Metal" to Melodic Metal, to Death Metal, to even Progressive Metal. There is very little Metal I don't like. Basically the only type of Metal that I don't enjoy is the stuff that sounds like the whole band is playing their instruments randomly (no rhythm or melody) and sounds like the singer is just burping into a tin can. That is the stereotypical Metal that makes everyone, who doesn't know about Metal, think it's all like that. It's not.
My favorite bands (in no particular order) include, Dark Tranquillity, Ayreon, In Flames, Cradle of Filth, Parkway Drive, Megadeth and many others.
Some of my favorite video game soundtracks (not counting games that are all about music, like Rock Band/Guitar Hero and Brutal Legend. Also not counting games with radio stations like Sleeping Dogs and the Grand Theft Auto and Saints Row series) are the Mass Effect series, the Witcher Series, World of Warcraft and FarCry 3: Blood Dragon.
I also like a small bit of Classical (the stuff that sounds spooky, like it could be in a horror movie) and some orchestra, but that's mostly due to video games with a lot of orchestra music (like Halo and a lot of RPGs).
You can check out a lot of the stuff I listen to (on my computer, at least), by visiting my Last.FM page. www.last.fm/user/BloodySky
Want to see my ranges of Metal I like? Allow me to post a few of my favorite songs that kind of go "all over the board" of Metal.
Medadeth - Sweating Bullets (Trash Metal/Speed Metal/Heavy Metal/Classic Metal)
I grew up on stuff like this. Megadeth, Metallica, Guns N Roses, Motley Crue, etc. And the video below...
Dio - Rainbow in the Dark (Heavy Metal/Hard Rock/Classic Rock)
Star One - Two Plus Two Equals Five (Progressive Metal)
Ayreon - The Theory of Everything [Parts 1 & 2] (Progressive Metal)
Fun fact: Both Star One and Ayreon are made by the musical genius known as Arjen A. Lucassen.
Dark Tranquillity - Lost to Apathy (Melodic Death Metal)
Cradle of Filth - Her Ghost in the Fog (Symphonic Black Metal/Gothic Metal)
Turisas - Stand Up and Fight (Battle Metal/Viking Metal/Epic Metal)
Falconer - Carnival of Disgust (Power Metal/Folk Metal)
Parkway Drive - Boneyards (Hardcore/Metalcore)
In Flames - Cloud Connected (Melodic Death Metal/Swedish Metal)
It was a hard choice for me to either post this In Flames song or "The Quite Place".
As you can see. A very wide range. Sure, it's all Metal, but a very wide range of different types of Metal. See, it's not all burping into a can and random instruments.
Feel free to post videos of the stuff you like as well.
Remember: Keep it civil. No need to bash anyone over their musical tastes. We all like something different.
